Big Thought Unveils November Calendar of Chase Presents Library Live!
...Outstanding FREE Arts and Literacy Programs at Area Public Libraries
DFW METROPLEX–Big Thought unveils the November calendar of Chase presents Library Live! Visit your local library to experience Chase presents Library Live! a program that brings literary traditions to life through music, dance, storytelling and more. The interactive arts and literacy program presented by professional artists give children and families opportunities to come together in their own neighborhood libraries to explore a world of multicultural performances and workshops, ranging from How Americans Learned to Rock from Songs of South Africa to Puppet Pal’s Storytime and much more…and all for FREE!
“Many of our young patrons are not exposed to live arts in any other way, and Library Live! presents a fine introduction. Children love the variety of performers and for many it is the highlight of their whole week,“ said Barbara Katz, Dallas Public Library Children’s Center.
Library Live! performances and workshops are presented by professional Big Thought artists. Programs are supported with suggested books and additional library activities to further increase the children’s understanding of the experience, making learning rich and rewarding as well as fun. A librarian from the Forest Green branch said, “The children who attended the programs are able to participate in a variety of activities that enhance their appreciation of poetry, creative writing, and dramatic interpretation. It doesn’t get much better than that.” Big Thought is one of the largest providers of arts-in-education programs in the nation, and is committed to making the arts a vital part of every child’s educational experience.
