Cinemark IMAX® Theatre to Unveil Mysteries of The Red Planet with Roving Mars
The Cinemark IMAX® Theatre will present the new Walt Disney Pictures’ film Roving Mars beginning Friday, January 27, 2006. The production allows viewers to see up close the surface of Mars, and witness the incredible journey to the red planet.
Roving Mars will unlock the questions that human beings have contemplated for centuries as it documents the remarkable Mars mission which sent two intrepid, death-defying explorers — Spirit and Opportunity, the Mars rovers – to the Red Planet. Through the eyes of these remarkable robots, viewers can now see Mars in a way that no one ever has.
Roving Mars was directed by George Butler (Shackleton’s Antarctic Adventure), and produced by Frank Marshall (Seabiscuit, Raiders of the Lost Ark) and Butler. Scott Swofford served as executive producer. The film was written by George Butler and Robert Andrus, with narration written by Butler. Philip Glass composed the music. The film, a K-M/White Mountain Films production, is presented as a public service by Lockheed Martin in collaboration with NASA.
