Dallas City Councilmember Delia Jasso, North Texas Job Corps and 97.9 FM The Beat host “Hip-Hop for Jobs” Career Training Fairs

Dallas City Councilmember Delia Jasso, Job Corps and 97.9 The Beat will hold a series of career training fairs designed to highlight career training and education opportunities at North Texas Job Corps.

“We are holding these career training fairs to create awareness about the opportunities that are available in the Job Corps,” said Jasso. “In addition to technical training in various occupations, students can receive academic training at no cost. We want our residents to know that the Job Corps can be a viable option to help individuals succeed in today’s workforce. This program is great if you can’t afford college or haven’t found a job.”

Administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, the Jobs Corps program is authorized by Title I-C of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. The program serves young people ages 16-24.

The job career training fairs will be held at:

6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, Audelia Road Library

3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, Bachman Lake Library
