Dallas Vital Statistics Office offers weekend hours

August 12 and August 19

The City of Dallas Vital Statistics Office will open two weekends in the month of August to accommodate parents needing birth certificates for their children to enroll in school. Although the event is tailored for back to school requests, the office will be able to provide routine services to anyone needing assistance.

The office located at Dallas City Hall, 1500 Marilla Street, First Floor, 1-FN, will be open on Saturday, August 12 and Saturday, August 19 from 8 a.m. to noon. The office can provide copies of birth records for births occurring anywhere in the state of Texas from 1926 to present, excluding delayed records.

Parents requesting a birth certificate in person should present a valid photo ID including any of the following: State issued drivers license, State issued ID card, Matricula consular, Visa or Passport, or veterans ID with photo.
The cost of birth certificates is $23 per copy; only cash, cashiers checks and money orders are accepted. Credit cards, personal checks and debit cards are not accepted as a form of payment. Customers may enter the building from the south side located off Akard Street across from the Convention Center. Parking is available at the meters in the back of the building.
