DFW SPORTS MIX 01 31 13 By Don Arnick

March is going to be fun if you are a hoops fan. Lots of action to get you ready for March Madness. First the Big 12 Womens Tournament is comoing to the Americn Airlines Center on March 7 to the 10th. Which means you will get a look at Baylor’s Britney Griner. I saw her in Waco recenty, she helped the Bears beat Oklahoma. But in that game, she made history by being the new NCAA women’s basketball all time shot blocking leader. She will be the Big 12 all time scoring leader by the beginning of the tournament. Britney can influence the game three ways, by her offense scoring point and getting the offensive rebounds. Her defense blocking shots and getting rebounds. And just being a presence on the court, and how the opposition had to adapt to her on the court. Once in a while, or a decade, a player is so one of a kind is a must see if you are a fan of basketball. And with the Baylor Bears on the road to repeat as National Champions, you will see Britney play at her top level best.
Need more hoop action. The SWAC conference is having their basketball classic at the Garland Events Center. March 12 to 16/ This conference gives you Texas Southern, Grambling, and more. There is a lot of basketball soul in that conference. And it will be on display in Garland.
And in late March, the NCAA regionals will be at Cowboys Stadium. The site of the 2014 Final Four. From now until early April, basketball will dominate the action everywhere.
