Another NBA All Star Weekend in the books. Houston Texas hosted basketball’s love fest featuring Hollywood stars who love hoops, and the current and former players who spent time on the hardwood. Speaking of Hollywood, actor Kevin Hart won the MVP in the celebrity game. In the real game, it was a continuation that basketball on the west coast is changing to a Clipper feel. The Lakers Kobe Bryant can brag that he blocked LeBron James twice in this game. But it was Chris Paul who shined in this game. Scoring and dishing off the ball was MVP stuff. 15 asisist helped the West beat the East 143-138. Historic win for the Clipper team, Paul became the first Clipper to win the all star MVP award. Proving that the basketball culture out west has a Clipper feel.
Ahh tne classic battle between number one and number two. Baylor Lady Bears went out east with their number one ranking to face the number two Uconn Huskies. Baylor struggled most the night. But one player put on her back and carried Baylor, and reached a milestone along the way, Center Britney Griner scored 25 points, most of them in the second half. And reached 3000 carrer points to help beat Uconn 76-70 to keep Baylor at number one. The Bears are coming to Dallas for the Big 12 womens Basketball Classic at the AAC. Amazing how some players just continue to change the game.
