Lets start with football, which is into the month of November and all the big games the lie ahead in all levels. High School Football is getting into its second season. I love this time of year for the schools as they take their game up a notch. So I suggest to take in some high school playoff action within the next 6 weeks. You will see me at the games too.
It has been a compelling year in college football, which has two conferneces dominating the BCS action. The Big 12 and The Southeastern Conference lay claim to all 5 spots in the BCS rankings. Alabama is number one, but numbers two and three belong to Texas and Texas Tech. That has me thinking about the classic game between the Longhorns and Red Raiders. Could we see a possible rematch of those two teams with a National Championship on the line. If both Texas and Texas Tech hold serve for the rest of the season, that mean win out their games, and Alabama loses one of their three games left in the season, the rematch will happen. I can’t see Bama beating Florida, the pressure of staying undefeated might be too great for Nick Saban’s crew. And with Texas and Texas Tech, the Heisman candidates will be on display with Colt McCoy, Graham Harrell, and MichaelCrabtree. This will be a big month of November and all of our questions will be answered. Can someone save the Cowboys? Tony Romo could sport a superhero outfit to save the Pokes season. Question is has the Cowboys worked themselves into a hole that could be tough to dig out? I look at that loss to St Louis as the one that could hold the Cowboys back from getting into the playoffs.
Two wild card spots with alot of teams battling for them could be tough for the Boys. They have to win out to have a chance, and hope some of the other teams lose along the way. Who knew that the Boys went from super bowl favorite to a team battling just to get into the post season tournament.
The Dallas Stars made a aquisition, picking up Mark Parrish. A free agent from Minnesota, Parrish is to give a offense an added punch. He made a big splash in his first game, getting a hatrick in the 5-2 win over Anaheim. The Stars have been struggling out of the gate, hopefully this will give them a jump start. Brett Farve is having a good season with the NY Jets. And he is one of the best quarterbacks to come from the state of Mississippi. There is another QB from that state you might want to keep your eye on, and he has the last name of Farve. It’s his nephew, Dylan. He has set a Mississippi record for most touchdown passes, 48. So the Farve bloodline has greatness in it. You heard it here.
