Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns had one team that has tormented them for a while

File this under, they had it coming. Both the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns had one team that has tormented them for a while. The Horns had the Oklahoma Sooners as a thorn on their side for 5 seasons. Every loss was a big blowout. The Texas-Exes was wanting the head of Coach Mack Brown for every time the Horns lose to the Sooners. Well, for a change, the exes can go silent for now. Mack Brown got his big win over Oklahoma. A 45-12 beat down of the Sooners. Vince Young continued his Heisman quest with a 3 touchdown performance. The Horns defense kept OU’s top runner Adrian Peterson to 10 yards. And kept Sooner QB Rhett Bomar bottled up for most of the day. So after years of being dominated at the Cotton Bowl by OU, Texas finally turned the tables and showed everyone that their #2 ranking is no fluke.

The Dallas Cowboys spent their off season beefing up the defense for one reason. Well, the primary reason in this case. Beat the Philadelphia Eagles. The road to the NFC East goes through Philly, who has gave the Cowboys trouble in past seasons. Add to that, Pokes killer Terrell Owens giving the Boys trouble. But the tables were turned as the Cowboys put on their best performance of the year with a 33-10 win. The defense came to play, holding the high powered Eagle offense to 129 total yards and 6 first downs. While the Drew Bledsoe Pokes offense had a fun time gaining 465 total yards on a defense that only gives up an average of 195 a game. Sending a message that this season, the easy wins are over Philly.

Getting back at the people that has done you wrong is a great equilizer. For the Longhorns and Cowboys, the two wins made a statement that the bullies have had their fun. Time for them to get a taste of their medicine.
