If you need further proof that the Dallas Mavericks trade with Washington has engergized this team. These recent three games is evidence that we got something special going. The battle with the LA Lakers was a battle, but the Mavericks overcame a 7 point hole in the 4th quarter, with Dirk Nowitzki’s 31 points and Jason Terry with 30, the Mavs beat the World Champion Lakers 101-96. The game in Atlanta was a all timer for Mavs wins. Down 11 going into the 4th, the Mavs rallyed again. It was Dirk again with 37 points, but need overtime to shut down the Atlanta Hawks 111-103. More on the Mavericks victory party, the Mavs hold off New Orleans Hornets, 108-100. They are killing the playoff contenders in this winning streak. This Mavs bunch has made their statement that they are back in the Western Conference playoff hunt. I have a feeling that the Lakers maybe worried about the Mavericks after spliting the season series 2-2. The Mavs, Denver, and

Utah are in a battle for spots 2,3. and 4. Game on

Switching to football. The Dallas Cowboys made a move, well a non move that involves a major offensive cog. The passed on the opportunity to put the franchise tag on wide receiver Miles Austin. Which means he is a restricted free agent, and could deal with any team he wants come March 6. Worry? you bet. What if some team gives Miles an offer so huge the Cowboys can’t match it. Miles would be gone. Leaving the Pokes receiving corp of Sam Hurd, Patrick Crayton, and Roy Williams. Can you trust this group of receivers in a playoff run. Na. You might want to keep your eyes on the Mile Austin situation. If we don’t get him a deal, he will be Miles ahead to another team.

Back to the Mavericks, and Jason Kidd. He is the smarted basketball player in the NBA. The play involving Atlanta Coach Mike Woodson is a good example. Jason was heading up court. Coach Woodson was on the court screaming defensive instructions to his Hawks. Jason made contact with Woodson, resulting in a technical foul, and a basket. That play was key in the Mavs comeback win over Atlanta. I dare you to call Jason Kidd old.
