There are two major operations along LBJ that will not only reduce, but also fully shut down portions of westbound IH-635 this weekend.
The final phase of drainage work between Marsh Lane and Webb Chapel Road is scheduled for
Friday, February 6 at 9 p.m. At this time, all lanes of westbound IH-635 between Marsh and Webb Chapel will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to take the Webb Chapel exit and may re-enter the main lanes via the next available entrance ramp just east of Webb Chapel (the Marsh on-ramp). All closures related to drainage work will be continuous throughout the weekend and will be re-opened by Monday, February 9 at 6 a.m.
The traffic shift along westbound IH-635 will happen overnight, beginning Saturday, February 7 at 7 p.m. The westbound lanes between the Dallas North Tollway and Midway Road will be reduced to one lane. The westbound exit ramp to Midway will also be closed, as well as the ramps connecting northbound and southbound DNT to westbound IH-635. All closures related to the traffic shift will be restored by Sunday, February 8 at noon.
Traffic shift detours: Westbound traffic headed for the Midway exit will take the Inwood exit instead; northbound DNT traffic headed for westbound IH-635 may take the exit to Galleria Dr.; and southbound DNT traffic headed for westbound IH-635 may take the exit to Alpha Rd.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
Signage and message boards will be placed along the roadway to advise motorists of closures and detours. Work is weather permitting and scheduling will be postponed if necessary.
