DREAMERS FROM THE DREAM ACTION COALITION SELECTED TO JOIN HACKATON ORGANIZED BY FWD.US

Washington D.C. – Erick Garcia and Carlos Vargas, both DREAMers, will be joining 18 other DREAMers that will take place on November 20th & 21st at the LinkedIn HQ in Mountain View! The Hackaton was organized by FWD.US, the advocacy group led by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckenberg. Carlos and Erick both came to the U.S. when they were young. Despite their immigration status, both had a passion for tech and computer science.
In 2011, both joined to what would be come the DREAM Action Coalition, an advocacy group led by undocumented youth that has organized bold actions to push for immigration reform and the DREAM Act.
They hope to participate so that they may create new tools so that Americans know their stories and see the importance of modernizing our outdated and broken immigration system.
