GM Receives Top TAMACC Business Award at 31st Annual Convention & Business Expo

Dallas, TX- The Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) honored General Motors Corporation with the Corporate Hispanic Business Advocate of the Year Award at its 31st Annual Convention and Business Expo held in El Paso. The winners were selected from nominations submitted by TAMACC’s 23 Hispanic Chamber of Commerce members throughout the state. In its fourth year of membership, GM has helped make a difference in the level of chamber programs brought to members, contributing to the success of various programs. GM has had a strong presence in Texas for more than 50 years, producing more than 8 million cars and SUVs at the GM Assembly Plant in Arlington, TX, generating thousands of jobs for hardworking men and women across the state. GM’s Supplier Diversity Program has spent nearly $51 billion with minority suppliers for over 37 years.

Additionally, GM has created a personnel position in Texas that is dedicated to working with the Hispanic communities in the region. “We have been able to expand and enhance our relationships with several organizations as a result of our outreach efforts, and are appreciative of this special recognition and acknowledgement by TAMACC,” said Craig Eppling, regional communications manager.
