Reconocimiento a un hispano triunfador: Bernardo Reitich

El graduado de Academy of Art University en Bellas Artes, Bernardo Reitich es originario de Caracas, Venezuela. Su familia es la que ha tenido la más profunda influencia en su arte y en las decisiones de su vida. El padre de Bernardo era a la vez un ingeniero y un artista. No sólo fue un pintor, sino que también diseñó el logotipo y los gráficos para su empresa de ingeniería. La hermana de Bernardo es una diseñadora y fue la primera en su familia en asistir a Academy of Art University. Las pasiones de Bernardo eran el diseño y la fotografía y sudeseo de asistir a AAU fue apoyado sin duda por la familia Reitich, con su hermana mayor abriendo el camino.
Ya estando en Academy of Art University, Bernardo se interesó en el programa de publicidad.Por desgracia, su capacidad para permanecer en la escuela se vió afectada por la economía que vivían en su casa en Venezuela. «Academy of Arts University me dio la oportunidad depermanecer en la escuela a través de un programa de estudio y trabajo. Fue un reto, pero he aprendido a ser autosuficiente y trabajar duro para conseguir lo que quiero.” La iniciativa de Bernardo, su estudio y entrenamiento, naturalmente lo llevaron a desear ser independiente.»Sólo he trabajado como empleado de tiempo completo una vez porque me di cuenta de que me estaba limitando si vivía con un trabajo de 9-5 trabajando para alguien más.». Desde entonces, ha fundado 3 agencias especializadas en desarrollo de marcas, empaques para productos, diseño interactivo y publicidad con clientes tales como HBO, Diesel, MTV, Nickelodeon, Royal Caribbean, Univision, Credit Suisse Bank y muchos otros.
Reitich, que se graduó de Academy of Arts University dijo: «He visto la reputación de Academy of Arts University crecer a lo largo de mi carrera, ya que pasó de ser un Instituto a una Universidad.». Reitich ha pasado el punto en que cualquier persona preguntaba por su curriculum vitae o donde fue a la escuela, pero él tiene consejos para los estudiantes de Academy of Art University y también para los recién graduados. «Vi a muchos de mis compañeros y socios de negocios fallar debido a la falta de persistencia y por desviarse en perseguir y alcanzar su visión artística. Es tu propio trabajo individual y tu portafolio profesional los que son claves para mostrar y comunicar lo que vas a aportar a un trabajo o proyecto». El viaje artístico de Reitich lo llevó de garabatos en la mesa de la cocina en Caracas bajo el ojo atento de su papá y hermana, a propietario y director artístico de su propia agencia. Reitichnunca se desvió de su sueño.

Academy of Art Fine Arts graduate Bernardo Reitich is from Caracas, Venezuela. It is his family that has had the deepest influence in his art and life choices. Dad was both an Engineer and an artist. Bernardo’s father was a painter but he also designed the logo and graphics for his engineering firm. Bernardo’s sister was a designer and was the first in his family to attend Academy of Art University. Bernardo’s passions weredesign and photography and his desire to attend AAU were supported without hesitation by the Reitich family with big sister leading the way.
Once at Academy of Art University Bernardo dove into the Advertising program. Unfortunately the economy back home in Venezuela impacted his ability to stay in school. «Academy of Art gave me an opportunity to stay in school through a work study program. It was challenging but I learned to be self-reliant and work hard for what I want.»
Bernardo’s initiative and training naturally led him to desire to be independent. » I have only worked as a full time employee once because I realized I was limiting myself if I lived a 9-5 job working for someone else.». Since then he has gone on to found 3 agencies specializing in branding, packaging, interactive design and advertising with clients such as HBO, Diesel, MTV, Nickelodeon, Royal Caribbean, Univision, Credit Suisse Bank and many others.
Reitich graduated from Academy of Art College and said, «I have seen the reputation of Academy of Art grow throughout my own career as it grew from College to University.». Reitich is past the point that anyone asks for a resume or where he went to school but he does have advice for Academy of Art University students and recent graduates alike. » I saw many of my fellow students and business associates fail from lack of persistence and by deviating from pursuing their artistic vision. It is your own individual work and your portfolio that are key to communicating what you will bring to a job or project.» Rietich’s artistic journey led him from kitchen table doodles in Caracas under his Dad and Sister’s watchful eye to owner and artistic director of his own agency.
