Savor Dallas features unique opportunity for interaction with World-Renowned wine, culinary experts

DALLAS, TX The lineup of wine and food experts participating in Savor Dallas makes this year’s event one of the United States’ highest-quality experiences for learning what’s best in wine and food in 2007.

In addition to 50-plus award-winning chefs who will serve signature recipes at the International Grand Tasting event, Savor Dallas will feature an entertaining, information-packed experience via Tasting Seminars, as well as in a dynamic Celebrity Kitchen to be hosted on March 10.

“We are thrilled with the star lineup we have for Savor Dallas 2007. No other 2007 wine and food event in the United States is bringing together the quality of presenters in one place the way that Savor Dallas will,” said Jim White, co-founder of the popular international celebration of wine, food, spirits and the arts that will be hosted for the third year on March 9 and 10, 2007. “The design of the Savor Dallas event allows attendees the chance to ask questions and visit one-on-one with the experts, from vintners, to chefs, to artisan producers.

Savor Dallas’ 2007 Tasting Seminar stars include Tony Abou-Ganim, the Modern Mixologist, who is featured on Fine Living’s “Raising the Bar: America’s Best Bar Chefs,” is one of the beverage industry’s major innovators and leaders. Based in Las Vegas , Tony designed the cocktail program for the world-famous Bellagio resorts, and continues to be one of the most influential sources for ideas and creativity for the world’s leading restaurants. At Savor Dallas, Tony will be conducting a seminar based on his new DVD series, “Mix it Up: Making Great Cocktails at Home” in the Ghost Bar.

Gina Gallo, Gallo Family Vineyards winemaker and grand-daughter of the legendary Julio Gallo will headline a special “Meet the Winemakers” panel moderated by Master Sommelier Guy Stout, director of education for Glazer’s. Mr. Stout also hosts another exciting seminar at Savor Dallas featuring “90 Point PLUS Wines” to explain why they’re rated so high and what to buy.

Another Savor Dallas star, Doug Frost, is one of only three experts in the world to hold both coveted titles Master Sommelier and Master of Wine, a remarkable distinction. Doug brings fun and a Latin flair to Savor Dallas with his tasting seminar “Vino Latino,” presenting the most exciting wines happening in the Spanish speaking regions of the world. According to USA Today, “Frost likely knows as much as anyone in the world about how to make, market, serve and identify wines.”

“The Wine Diva” Christine Ansbacher, Certified Wine Educator and Author of “Secrets from The Wine Diva” will present “KISS Wines (Keep It Sexy and Seductive)” to make any occasion romantic with seductive red wines.

Charles Curtis, Master of Wine and Director of Wine and Spirits Education for Moët Hennessy USA will present “In the Pink with Great Champagne,” showcasing the magical flavors of premium rosé champagnes and sparkling wines, the most popular drink in today’s top restaurants.

While the tasters are sipping, The Viking Range Celebrity Kitchen at Victory Park Plaza will feature high-energy demonstrations from top chefs performing in a state-of-the-art professional kitchen from Viking and the Milestone Culinary Arts Center in Dallas .

The Savor Dallas Viking Celebrity Kitchen Presented by Market Street becomes “Rocco’s Kitchen,” as chef and television star Rocco DiSpirito joins the fun. He brings the high energy and personality made famous on “The Restaurant” reality show on NBC, and great recipes from his books Flavor and Italian-American (both Hyperion).

Also joining the celebrity chef lineup at Savor Dallas are: Johanne Killeen and George Germon, who have made Al Forno in Providence , R.I. , one of the most respected restaurants in the world. Johanne and George are James Beard Award winners (“Rising Star Chefs”, “Best Chefs in Northeast”); “Number 1 Casual Dining in the World,” International Herald Tribune; inducted into Johnson & Wales Hall of Fame. Johanne and George will be signing their brand new book On Top Of Spaghetti (Harper Collins, William Morris Cookbooks) immediately following their demonstration.

Darren McGrady, Princess Diana’s Personal Chef, will share the secrets of the Royal Kitchen from Buckingham to Windsor to Balmoral. Chef McGrady spent 11 years cooking for the Queen and four years with Diana until her tragic death. He’ll share stories and answer questions while showing you delightful recipes from his forthcoming book entitled “The Royal Chef.”

The weekend’s hot destination will be the “International Grand Tasting,” an extravaganza that wine and food lovers appreciate because it provides a unique opportunity for them to interact with vintners, celebrity chefs and artisans. A bounty of great wines and spirits, served with signature recipes from the area’s most popular upscale restaurants, makes for a spectacular Savor Dallas evening. The not to be missed “Texas Outlaws” after party, to salute the chefs and winemakers, follows and is included with the evening’s admission.
