I had the opportunity to test drive and review this gem and I was truly surprised with everything it offered. «Believe me» this SUV is impressive, Fully loaded and very upscale. Top- of-the-line finishes, like premium interior with luxury details, the best in comfort and utility make this new generation of Explorers stand out among the past. The sleek upscale body style is modern and sophisticated, with bold features, like chrome handles, a bold chrome grille give an impressive profile to the new generation Explorer; The interior is luxurious and premium quality in workmanship, a well- finished interior complemented with superior technologies for connectivity and safety with a full display of high tech features, like My FORD touch and Sync, adaptive cruise control, and automatic parallel parking systema very comfortable seating for up to seven passengers, regal leather seats that are smooth and plush. The second row comes with seatbelts, and improvement of safety for small riders, safety is focused and reliable with many advanced safety features airbags, side curtain airbags, stability control, traction control, antilock brakes and much more
I experienced an excellent smooth ride with easy handling» through and through’ solid on road dynamics for an excellent drive on different terrains and road conditions, the new Explorer is more efficient rendering 18 mpg in the city and 25 Hwy mpg.
The Explorer is offered in 3 trim levels, the Base , XLT and Limited, prices start at 27,900 and range to 46,270.
Standard equipment include 17 inch steel wheels, privacy glass, integrated blind spot mirrors, Mp3 player, roof rails ,cruise control a six-way power driver seat and manual recline. A tilt-telescoping steering wheel, MY ford advanced trip computer and a clear six speaker sound system, a cd player an auxiliary audio jack, and smooth premium, upholstery seating, and 80 cubic feet of cargo space.
All levels come with a 3.5 liter – V6 engine with automatic transmission, yielding 290 horsepower and 255 pounds/ feet of torque.
The XLT Explorer adds Blue thooth, satellite radio, navigation system to the package.
The Limited level is pure sophistication, impressive and bold riding on 20 inch wheels, it bundles all standard equipment with all the extras from the XLT and other Rapid specs features like keyless ignition with start button and remote; A 12 speaker powerful Sony sound system , an HD satellite radio, and 110 volt power outlet.
Two additional rapid specs are available and are optional in the package for the XLT and the Limited, these include the power lift gate, ventilated front seats and power folding third row seats.
