The competition is part of the International Book Fair to be held Oct. 30-31 and Nov. 1

DALLAS, TX – Do you have a story to tell? If so, you could win a prize in the Dallas Public Library’s Short Story Contest. The contest is part of the Fourth Annual International Book Fair to be held Oct. 30-31 and Nov. 1 at the Central Library, 1515 Young St.

First, second and third place prizes will be awarded and winners will be invited to a special ceremony with local, national and international authors. Stories must be original, not a copy of an existing piece and not previously published, and entrants must be 18 or older.

Stories can be submitted in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean, and may be submitted in person or by mail to: International Book Fair, 1515 Young St, Dallas, TX 75201 or email to miriam.rodriguez@dallaslibrary.org. Deadline for entries is 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5.

Local, national and international authors and illustrators will discuss their work, present workshops and sign books at the Fourth Annual International Book Fair. The free event will also feature artistic and cultural performances for the entire family. Activities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31 and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov 1.
