Through Her Lens: Emerging Female Photographers
DALLAS –The Bath House Cultural Center presents Through Her Lens: Emerging Female Photographers, an exhibition featuring the work of former and current students in the M.F.A. program at Texas Woman’s University. The exhibition will run from March 14 to April 18, 2009. An opening reception with the participating artists will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 7 to 9 PM. Both the exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public.
About the exhibition: Through Her Lens features the photographic works by eight female photographers who are former and current M.F.A. candidates at different stages of graduate work, studying under the instruction of Susan Kae Grant at Texas Woman’s University. Collectively, the artists have participated in more than 112 exhibitions, including international, national, and regional shows, and have cumulatively been recognized with a total of 37 awards.
The artists featured in the Through Her Lens exhibition are: Twyla Bloxham, Mary Kathryn Dunn, Morgan Ford, Leah Gose, Elizabeth Higgins, Valerie Ontiveros, Ashlae Shepler, and Angilee Dawn Wilkerson.
This exhibition will be on view at the Bath House Cultural Center coinciding with the 46th National Conference of the Society of Photographic Education (SPE) to be held this year in Dallas, and also during the Spring Gallery Walk of the Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA).
