Trucking Consortium Partners with Mountain View College for a $525,000 Job-Training Grant

A trucking consortium has partnered with Mountain View College in Dallas to provide training for 150 new truck drivers using a $525,000 job-training grant from the Texas Workforce Commission’s (TWC) Skills Development Fund.

Upon completion of training, workers will earn an average hourly wage of $17.81. The trucking consortium consists of Covenant Transport Inc., U.S. Xpress Enterprises Inc. and Werner Enterprises Inc.

TWC Commissioner Representing the Public Andres Alcantar presented a check to Mountain View College President Felix A. Zamora at 9:30 a.m. the last Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Mountain View College, 4849 W. Illinois Ave. in Dallas.
