Boy Scouts’ Circle Ten Council Presents 2006 Scout Show Games, Contests, Demonstrations and Entertainment for the Family
DALLAS – It’s time again for the annual Boy Scouts of America Circle Ten Scout Show. This year’s show, scheduled for Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dallas Market Center, will feature scuba diving learning center along with lots of other exciting activities. “The Scout show is a great opportunity for the public — especially families with young children — to experience Scouting,” said Circle Ten CEO and Scout Executive Ponce Duran. “We’d like to invite everyone to join us for an action-packed day. It’s a wonderful opportunity to try Scouting and visit with Scouts and leaders involved in our programs in a fun environment.”
More than 25,000 people are expected to attend Big Red Xtreme Scout Show, which is being sponsored by Big Red soda. Big Red Extreme will include more than 400 booths and exhibits, set up inside and outside of the Market Center, with games, contests and skill-based and merit badge demonstrations. Other show highlights include climbing towers, cooking demonstrations and Pinewood Derby races in addition to military, fire department and emergency vehicles to tour. Hosted by Boy Scout Troops, Cub Scout Packs, Venture Crews and Explorer Posts, the displays will feature hands-on activities so attendees can experience different aspects of Scouting. There will be entertainment by Scout bands, and information also will be available for those interested in joining the Scouting program.
The laminated card tickets to the Big Red Extreme are $5 and will admit the entire family. They will not only be good for the show, but will last a whole year and feature special discounts at El Chico, Spaghetti Warehouse, Good Eats, Tony Roma’s, Popeye’s, Grandy’s, Sonic, Dickey’s , Boston Market, Papa Johns and Mobil 1. They may be purchased in advance from Scouts and also will be available at the door. Scouts or leaders in uniform will be admitted free.
