Texan and Former San Fran Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr. Book Signing

East Rutherford, NJ – Hudson News, the nation’s only national newsstand brand, announced that Willie L. Brown, Jr., Texan and former mayor of San Francisco, will be signing his new book, “Basic Brown: My Life and Our Times” at the Hudson News newsstand in the lobby of Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) on Monday, April 7, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (This store is pre-security.)

Twenty-five students from South Oak Cliff High School ’s government class will also be on hand to meet Mayor Brown and receive signed complimentary copies of his book.

The 349-page hardcover book was published by Simon & Schuster in February. The book is a compendium of Brown’s insights and stories about the forces governing the political landscape of America today. Brown was dubbed by The Washington Post as “the last political showman of the 20th century.” Former President Bill Clinton called Brown “the real Slick Willie.”

It is also the inspiring and funny story of a young black boy who grew up in poverty and segregation, then rose through the Civil Rights Movement to become one of the most respected politicians in the nation. His shrewd understanding and use of political power and political money were instrumental in helping to achieve some of the most far-reaching legislation in American history – measures such as gun control, legalized abortion, gay rights and school funding.

Hudson News operates stores at DAL with local partners EBJ & Associates and Multiplex, Inc., which is owned by Ms. Helen Giddings.
