Wilmer-Hutchins ISD’s history and legacy preserved
Having officially absorbed Wilmer-Hutchins ISD, Dallas ISD is making every effort to preserve the former school district’s history. More than 5,000 boxes with more than half a million individual records of Wilmer-Hutchins ISD have been reviewed, inventoried, and stored in the Districtwide Records Management building on Commerce Street where Dallas ISD records also are stored. To preserve hundreds of plaques, trophies, and banners removed from Wilmer-Hutchins ISD facilities, Dallas ISD staff built 28 trophy cases to display the awards.
